2016 Lincoln MKX

Lincoln kicked off the second half of 2015 with an enormous sales month, moving 9,536 vehicles for a year-over-year gain of 21.3%. In an almost astounding turn of events, almost every single vehicle in Lincoln’s lineup saw year-over-year sales improvement during the month, making it Lincoln’s best July in 10 years and the best July for SUV sales in 9 years.

A major cause for the sales increase seems to be the arrival of the new 2016 Lincoln MKX, of which the brand moved 2,519 examples for a 27% year-over-year increase. In its first full month on the market, the redesigned MKX drummed up enough interest to move it into the position of Lincoln’s second-highest-selling vehicle.

The MKC continued its 14-month roll with 2,455 units sold in July, up 60% from last year. Lincoln has sold 13,787 MKC utilities thus far in 2015. The Navigator was also up considerably with 785 units sold this July vs. 634 last year, bringing its to-date total to 6,624 units. The MKT was also up for the first time in 2015 with sales of 591 units and a 45.6% increase.

Lincoln’s best-seller in July was the MKZ at 2,642 units, but it was the lone member of Lincoln’s lineup to post a sales decrease over 2014. The MKS, which is soon to be replaced by the returning Continental, also pitched in by selling 14 more models this July than it did in July 2014.
