Despite Ford’s sales falling off 1.5%, the Lincoln luxury brand experienced its biggest month of 2015 thus far in posting a sales increase of 3.7% in May. All told, 9,174 Lincoln vehicles were sold in May, the most units Lincoln has sold in any month since December 2014.

Oddly enough, nearly every model in Lincoln’s lineup was down in May. The lone exceptions were the two vehicles largely responsible for Lincoln’s sales gains thus far in 2015—the Navigator and MKC.

Navigator sales were up 50.1% with 1,046 models delivered last month. The result is the second-best figure that the full-size luxury SUV has posted this year, and it marks the sixth time in the last nine months that the Navigator has sold in the four-figure range. Prior to September 2014, the Navigator has only sold 1,000 units or more in the United States twice since the beginning of 2010.

The MKC reached the one-year anniversary of its release by posting 2,289 sales—its best monthly result thus far in 2015 and its second-best result all-time. In its first month on the market just one year ago, Lincoln sold 677 MKCs.

Lincoln’s cars were down 14.4% in May, with the MKZ falling 11.3% and the MKS falling 28%. To date, Lincoln’s car sales are down 20.2% year-over-year. The MKX and MKT utility vehicles also posted double-digit losses year-over-year, falling 38.1% and 12.1%, respectively.
