Lincoln Sales Up in June Thanks to MKX, MKC, Navigator
Lincoln ended the first half of 2015 with yet another month of strong sales momentum, driven almost entirely by momentum behind the brand’s utility vehicles.
Lincoln moved 8,326 vehicles in June, a 14.5% increase over the 7,271 vehicles moved in June 2014. Through the first six months of the year, Lincoln’s sales total 47,112 vehicles, up 5.8%.
More Lincolns News: 2015 Lincoln MKC Ready to Conquer Compact Crossover Segment
Lincoln’s car sales continue to drop as consumers move away from sedans in favor of crossovers, SUVs, and pickups. While the MKZ continues to lead all Lincoln sales from a volume perspective, it was down nearly 15% in June and is down nearly 20% through six months. The MKS was down nearly 13% and is down 18% through the first half.
Despite another down month from the MKT, Lincoln’s utilities thrived in June. The MKC led the pack with a solid 1,947 units sold, bringing its first-half total to 11,332 units. The MKC was followed by the MKX with 1,936 units sold. The reason for the 9.7% increase: Lincoln opening up sales for the all-new 2016 MKX.
Also having another great month was the Navigator, which moved 999 units for a 38.6% year-over-year improvement. To date, Lincoln has sold nearly 60% more Navigators in 2015 with a total of 5,839 delivered.
