Lincoln’s April Sales Climb 19.6%

Lincoln’s US sales totaled 8,134 units in April, a 19.6% year-over-year increase. While the brand continued to struggle with regards to selling its cars, its utilities carried more than enough slack to bring Lincoln into the black.

As has been the case for much of the past year, the addition of the MKC crossover to the lineup has helped keep Lincoln’s numbers ahead of the previous year’s pace. Lincoln sold 1,866 units in April, bringing the total number of MKCs sold in 2015 to 7,096 units.

Also leading the way for Lincoln was the Navigator, which was up 36.4% at 919 units. Not including the MKC, Navigator is the lone model in Lincoln’s lineup to have year-over-year sales gains through four months.

Sales of Lincoln cars were down 7.4% overall, with the MKZ down 4.6% with 2,915 units sold and the MKS down 18.4% with 649 units sold.

Also down in April were the MKX at 1,357 units (down 25.8%) and MKT at 428 units (down 5.3%).

To date, Lincoln has sold 29,612 vehicles in the United States, up 4.2% year-over-year.
