For the past couple years, sales of electric vehicles have been skyrocketing, and–based on the concept models being revealed by automakers at major auto expos–that trend will only continue in the next decade. If you’re one of the many customers in the market for a new car who is considering investing in an electric car, you might know that certain cities are better to live in when owning an electric vehicle. The two most prominent reasons are charging infrastructure and tax breaks/subsidies.

Personal finance technology company SmartAsset evaluated and ranked cities in the United States based on which is are the best places to live when own an electric vehicle.

Unsurprisingly, some of the top cities in which to own an electric vehicle are in California. Though congested, major cities San Diego (#5) and Los Angeles (#4) offer many dedicated charging stations. The state also offers a $2,500 rebate on EV purchases and allows electric car owners to drive in carpool lanes. 40% of electric cars sold in the country have been in California–whose residents continue to support alternative energy.

Available fuel processes also play a big part in the results, such as in Charleston, WV (#7)–where coal-fired power plants keep electricity cheap–and Seattle (#3)–where hydroelectric energy costs are the lowest in America.

Still, the biggest benefit is the subsidies, which put two Georgia cities–Augusta (#2) and Atlanta (#1)–in the top spots. However, you might want to reconsider moving to this state. The government is discontinuing the generous $5,000 tax credit in favor of higher taxes for those who own electric vehicles. Ouch!
