It’s a fair guess that Joey Logano just had a way better weekend that yours.

After finishing first in Saturday’s Zippo 200 XFINITY Series race, Logano muscled the No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion to the checkered flag for the win at the Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen. In so doing, Logano earned his second Sprint Cup Series win of the season, his first road course victory, and the privilege of being the first driver in history to sweep a weekend series at Watkins Glen.

“I’m still just trying to catch my breath. I was really excited after that one,” Logano said after the race. “I was running down Harvick there for a little bit and once I got close to him he started to pick up his pace a little bit, which was good because I needed him to run out of gas.

“I started to catch him a little bit and I drove into one too hard and started to wheel hop. I just about lost it and at that point you just hope he runs out of gas, which he did in the last corner. It makes up for last week.  We lost the race last week the same way, so it makes up for it to get it this week.”

Logano pulled ahead when it counted—the only lap he led for the entirety of the race was the last one.

The last time a Ford driver swept both events in a single weekend was when Brad Keselowski did it July 12-13 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Keselowski finished in 7th place.
