London Bus Stops Outfitted with E-Paper Technology for Up-to-Date Bus Times
E-paper bus stop signs are being tested currently in London to provide up-to-date bus information for Londoners
Nothing makes a bad day worse than arriving at a London bus stop in the pouring rain, only to discover that the bus stop’s schedule of dates and arrival times is outrageously outdated. Now, Transport for London, a local transportation company, is looking to make this situation a thing of the past.

The company is taking a page from Kindle, outfitting a small number of bus stops with e-paper displays to test the technology’s effectiveness. Much like the e-ink road signs used in Sydney, Australia, London’s new e-paper bus stop signs will be able to stay up-to-date, changing as the bus’s stop times changes.
Basically, it looks like these signs are giant Amazon Kindles strapped to the bus stop’s post. These signs take the Kindle technology one step further, though, but even allowing the display s to be charged by solar power. So not only are they ridiculously convenient, but they are also extremely eco-friendly.

Currently, Transport for London is testing the technology near Waterloo Bridge, but they plan on introducing it to three other stops at Parliament Square, Picadilly Circus, and Sloan Square next month. Needless to say, I think that means you can say “goodbye” to outdated bus schedules!
