Lyft Announces Price Drop in 33 Cities

The Lyft car-sharing service has officially reduced its pricing in 33 cities across the US

Lyft and Uber have been duking it out for years to be the best-of-the-best in the car-share service industry—and it looks like that competition isn’t going to end anytime soon.

The most recent saga in this competition, though, looks like it’s going to benefit the two car services’ customers more than the companies themselves. Following on the heels of Uber’s decision to lower its rates in over 100 cities in the US and Canada, Lyft is offering reduced rates, too. In 33 cities across the United States, the Lyft car service is now even more affordable than Uber than before.

This announcement was made in a recent blog post from the company, during which Lyft notes that “the beginning of a new year is a great time to make plans for what’s to come.” It continues on to encourage its customers to get out and explore—using their service, of course. The lower prices are now reflected in the app.

So, the next time you find yourself in one of the following cities, get ready—your Lyft bill will be significantly cheaper than it has in the past.
