Looking for a new hobby? Perhaps you consider making papercrafts! It’s a fun activity that people enjoy both here and in Japan. All you need is a printer, a pair of scissors, a gluestick, and a lot of spare time. The result: a 3D model car of your favorite automobile!

If you’re new to assembling papercraft cars, this Hyundai Genesis Coupe template from www.GenCoupe.com is a great place to start.

How to Build a Simple, Paper Hyundai Genesis Model

To build your own Hyundai Genesis paper modelĀ (pre-hexagonal grill shape), print out the template linked to in the picture above. Then, grab your craft supplies and follow the steps below! Be warned, it’s not as easy as it looks.

1. Cut out the paper pattern along the solid lines, making sure to leave the white tabs attached. Cutting is doable with a pair of scissors, but if you’re struggling, try using an X-Acto knife.

2. Start with the bottom, carefully gluing the white tabs and adhering them to the rest of the model (underneath). Since there aren’t printed instructions included, you can either follow the video on the GenCoupe website or this order: right side, front end, rear end, left side.

3. Take time in between sealing portions of your paper car to let the glue dry.

This Hyundai Genesis Coupe template looked good in theory but wasn’t our favorite by the time it was completed. The final product looks blocky (for as sleek as the real thing is) and its anglesĀ don’t always line up. We also would’ve preferred making the Hyundai Veloster.

Now that you’ve conquered the Genesis Coupe, time to move onto other paper patterns!
