The 2017 Chevy Malibu is now on sale in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, making it the first Chevrolet with an available turbocharged engine sold in the Middle East.

The ninth-generation model offers customers a choice between two power options: a 2.5-liter engine and the all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, which delivers 250 turbocharged horsepower (186 kW) and leads its segment in fuel efficiency with 14.2 km/L.

The new Malibu is stronger and lighter than the outgoing version, with a more dynamically optimized ride and handling, thanks in large part to the turbo four-cylinder engine. The Malibu 2.0T delivers top-notch acceleration, thanks to the 350Nm of torque provided by its new powertrain.

Additionally, the twin-scroll design of the turbo unit is able to help optimize the usable power from the engine at low revolutions while eliminating any turbo lag.

The vehicle’s design is as sporty as its turbo powertrain, with shiny dual exhaust chrome tips, along with standard auto diming mirrors. The turbocharged engine is an option in the LT and LTZ trims, with 10 spoke alloy wheels in 17- and 18-inch rims.

The Malibu 2.0T also boasts a suite of available advanced active and passive safety features which include Front Pedestrian Alert that uses a forward-looking camera to help avoid or reduce the harm caused by crashes with pedestrians ahead of the vehicle; Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning; Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert; New Forward Collision Alert with Following Distance Indicator; Rear Cross Traffic Alert; Front and Rear Park Assist; Intellibeam headlamps; Adaptive Cruise Control with Front Automatic Braking; Automatic Parking Assist; and speed limit readout on the dashboard.

Chevrolet Middle East customers will also receive Chevrolet Complete Care as standard with the purchase of the new Malibu.
