Mazda Expands Support for Red Cross

The Red Cross has a program known as ADGP: the Annual Disaster Giving Program. Members pledge ongoing donations to help the Red Cross in advance of disaster striking to ensure a strong, immediate response at no cost and regardless of income.
Mazda has decided to give more. In the past, Mazda had been contributing to the ADGP, but it has expanded its annual contribution to over $1 million, mixed between money and vehicle donations, making this Mazda’s largest in-kind vehicle donation ever.
Specifically, Mazda will supply 18 of its most functional vehicles to Red Cross chapters across the nation. Of that number, half are CX-9 three-row crossover SUVs, while the other nine are 2015 Mazda5 multi-activity vehicles. These vehicles will aid in transportation of emergency supplies and services to families and victims in need, as well as to help train people in skills such as CPR, AED, and first aid.
“Thanks to the support of Mazda and other companies and foundations, the Red Cross can immediately respond to the needs of people impacted by disaster in the United States,” said American Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern.
In response, Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations, said, “Mazda’s partnership with the American Red Cross goes beyond monetary donations and we are honored to provide them with Mazda vehicles to be used on the front lines of disaster relief.”
