Remember how, back in October, Mazda released the RX-VISION Concept vehicle, and everyone lost their minds?

Well, it seems that some people are still looking for them, as the RX-VISION was awarded the title of “Most Beautiful Concept Car of the Year” at the 31st Festival Automobile International in Paris, France. This distinction is given to the concept vehicle that the judges (a panel of experts and enthusiasts from motorsports, architecture, fashion, and design) feel embodies the best in design creativity and emerging trends. It is one of the biggest prizes given at the event.

And who can blame the judges for getting a little misty-eyed over the RX-VISION? It’s long; it’s low; it’s sleek and sexy; it has gorgeous, flowing KODO – Soul of Motion lines; and on top of all of that, it is Mazda’s signature red.

In addition, it was the announcement of the return of an utterly unique engine: the rotary. First made by Felix Wankel back in the 50s, Mazda has continued to improve its design, and now is applying its SKYACTIV version, simply called the SKYACTIV-R.

The RX-VISION will remain on display at the Festival’s concept car exhibition until January 31st.
