Mazda Takes CX-5 on Experience Tour Across US
It’s probably a safe thing to say that Mazda is excited about the new 2017 CX-5, and they should be—for 2017, Mazda’s middle-of-the-road crossover received a redesign, with changes to its looks, its architecture, and its powertrain options.
However, the Zoom Zoom brand seems to think that simply releasing the CX-5 isn’t quite auspicious enough of an entrance for its new crossover, so it has announced it will be setting out on nationwide “Experience the All-New 2017 Mazda CX-5” tour. At stops in 15 cities, prospective customers will be able to explore the CX-5 and the brand’s approach to craftsmanship, engineering, and design.
The stops will have two different type of events.
The first is an “Intercept” event, which Mazda described as your traditional ride and drive experience through a set route to explore the various features and driving dynamics of the CX-5. Specifically, the brand said that participants would learn “how a lighter vehicle can ultimately make the drive more fun,” that safety features “can enhance, and not overtake, the driving experience,” how technology can be designed to “support the driving experience, not take away from it,” and how the brand’s Jinba Ittai driving philosophy translates to the driving experience.
The second kind of event is a “Mastercraft” event, where Mazda owners will be invited to explore the masterwork behind a certain product or craft used by the Mazda brand.
“Our goal is to engage our audience in an impactful way, in a location that’s convenient and familiar to them,” said Russell Wager, vice president of marketing for Mazda North American Operations. “By allowing our customers to engage with our brand and our vehicles in an environment that is fun and interactive, we create the opportunity for potential customers to experience our personality as a brand.”
