Mazda North American Operations and NBCUniversal have joined together once again to find a worthy non-profit organization to help as part of Mazda’s Drive for Good® Program. The contest works by having viewers of NBC’s broadcast, cable, and digital networks nominate other viewers involved in non-profit organizations.

Then, once the winning non-profit is selected, the selected organization’s representative will be notified by a surprise in-person appearance from NBC and Mazda representatives, who will then bring the organization representatives to attend NBC’s annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center. There, the non-profit representatives will be recognized for their award and good deeds.

However, that high level of publicity and exposure isn’t the only things the non-profit receives. To the lucky non-profit, Mazda will make an in-kind contribution in the form of goods and service totaling around $30,000 in other marketing materials.

“Mazda Drive for Good isn’t just about giving monetarily or volunteering,” said Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. ”One of the most impactful ways we contribute to our charity partners is growing awareness through great partnerships like the one we have with NBCUniversal.”

The Mazda Drive for Good program will also be repeating its fundraising activities by donating $150 per new Mazda sold or leased between November 23rd and January 4th, as well as pledging one hour of charitable service for every test drive during the same period, to be paid back over the course of 2016. Mazda has donated more than $7.9 million to charity and over 120,000 volunteer hours.
