Mercedes-Benz has confirmed a deal with Euro F3 champion Esteban Ocon

Dreams are coming true for Esteban Ocon, who will be receiving support from Mercedes-Benz, the reigning Formula 1 champion.
Though Ocon is already a 2014 European Formula 3 champion, this partnership with the German manufacturer can spell out an even more successful future for him.
Racing in Formula 1 is the ultimate goal for most racing drivers, especially those already racing in open-wheeler feeder series such as F3. Receiving Mercedes-Benz’s support makes it all the more likely that Ocon will be able to secure a racing contract with the championship-winning team.
The French driver already proved himself last year when he became the Euro F3 champion ahead of Max Verstappen, who was ushered into F1 for the 2015 season by Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s sister team.
Ocon himself has some experience with F1 cars. He was Lotus F1’s test driver last season and took part in the first free practice session during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last November.
This year, he’ll continue to race in F3 for ART Grand Prix, a long-term Mercedes partner. He’ll also act as the official test and reserve driver for the Mercedes AMG DTM squad.
