Mercedes has been around for 88 years, and with a history that long, it’s hard to imagine that there’s much uncharted territory to be covered. This past November, Mercedes crossed a new threshold with 37,925 sales (between the MB, Sprinter, and smart brands), marking its best monthly sales mark ever.

“November was one for the history books at Mercedes-Benz,” said Stephen Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “Beyond record sales, our rise to the top spot in J.D. Power’s Sales Satisfaction Index shows our efforts on the customer experience front are resonating with owners.”

Indeed, Mercedes grabbed the top spot in the J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Index for the first time in 24 years, climbing four spots over its ranking last year. Cannon told Automotive News (subscription required) that a large reason for that rise was thanks to an increased focus on customer service.

Certainly, the current Mercedes-Benz product lineup is also a big part of that, and it was also the primary reason for Mercedes-Benz’s sales record in November. The MB brand was up 0.6%, notching sales of 34,578 units. Mercedes was led by the C-Class (9,259 units/+17.5%), M-Class (5,190 units/+19.9%), E-Class (4,737 units/-45%), and CLA-Class (3,898 units/+7.6%).

Mercedes’ big gainers in November also include the SL-Class (+10%), S-Class (+50.1%), G-Class (+31.8%), and GL-Class (+4.8%).

Also up in November were the Mercedes-Benz AMG performance sub-brand—up 10.4% with 989 units sold—and Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned vehicles—up 9.6% with 9,692 units sold.

To date, Mercedes-Benz brand sales are up 6% in the US with 296,382 units delivered through 11 months. When extended to include all three brands, sales are up 7% with 328,319 vehicles sold.
