Mercedes Reveals New AMG Versions of C-Class Convertible
While Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts eagerly await the US release of the new C-Class convertible, the German automaker has released information regarding the engines that will be offered with the AMG versions of the C-Class cabriolet.
There will be three unique AMG trim levels offered with the C-Class convertible, which are the AMG C43 4MATIC, AMG C63, and AMG C63 S. In addition, each of these models comes with its own distinctive engine.

The Mercedes-AMG C43 4MATIC cabriolet is powered by twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine rated at 362 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, which helps this new Mercedes reach a top speed of 155 mph.
The second AMG version of the new C-Class convertible is the Mercedes-AMG C63, which comes equipped with a 469-horsepower biturbo V8 engine. The AMG C63 cabrio can hit 62 mph–from a standstill–in only 4.2 seconds. That acceleration time is just a hair off that of the new Mercedes-AMG C63 S cabrio, as this version of the C-Class can reach 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
In addition to its finely-tuned turbo motors, the AMG versions feature sportier exterior designs that come complete with 18-inch alloy wheels and a diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, as well as special bumpers and sills with AMG body styling.
The AMG versions of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class convertible are presently only available overseas. In Germany, the AMG C43 4MATIC has been priced at 67,919 euros, which is approximately $77,000 in US currency.
