Michael Colleran Named Regional VP, Nissan Northeast Region

Nissan has announced that it will name Michael Colleran its regional vice president for the Northeast Region, effective January 1st. Colleran will take the helm from current regional VP Gary Frigo, who will retire at the end of 2014.

Colleran has been with Nissan since 2011, and he currently serves in the role of regional VP for Nissan Canada, which recently crossed the 100,000 unit annual sales mark for 2014. As VP for the Northeast Region, Colleran will oversee regional sales and marketing, incentive spending, distribution, dealer network development, financial controls, and dealer and customer satisfaction.

“Michael’s experience in Canada will be valuable as we work to consolidate operating profit, maximize return on investment spending and grow market share here in the U.S.,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. “We welcome Michael to his new role. We also thank Gary for his many years of dedicated service with the company and wish him and his family well.”

Colleran’s automotive career goes back 23 years to marketing and sales gigs of varying levels of importance with General Motors and leading into the role of President and COO with Saab prior to joining on at Nissan.

Collearn has a bachelor’s degree from California Lutheran University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Marymount University.

Ted Lancaster, the current regional GM for Nissan Canada East Region, will take over for Colleran as the regional VP for Nissan Canada.
