The MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo
MINI is the latest automaker to design a virtual race car for video game franchise Gran Turismo, with the vehicle now available for download in the GT6 game. The MINI Clubman Vision Gran Turismo combines everything we yearn to see in a production vehicle with everything we want from a race car in a video game, and is one of our favorites thus far.
The Clubman Vision GT is powered by a 395-hp engine which is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 in around 3.5 seconds. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission which sends power to all four wheels at all times. This allows the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 290 km/h, or approximately 180 mph. As you might imagine, this should make for a pretty exciting virtual driving experience.
But power isn’t the only thing that makes this vehicle super—it also looks like the car of our dreams. The front end boasts huge air inlets and precise air ducting surfaces to increase the vehicle’s aerodynamics. The MINI comes with a carbon front apron and underbody for reduced air resistance and weight, elliptical headlamps with black X designs, a hexagonal grille with black chrome surround, elongated doors, 22-inch bicolor rims, and flared wheel arches. In other words, it’s a beauty.
The other cool thing about the Clubman Vision GT is that you’re truly able to make it match your personality. Customization options include five paint finishes, so you can contrast the main body of the vehicle with the roof, and stripes on the roof and hood. This allows you to create a more unique car that’ll stand out amongst your competitors.
Other automakers that have developed virtual cars for Gran Turismo 6 include Nissan, Chevy, Infiniti, Subaru, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes, Volkswagen, and Mitsubishi.
