MINI will air a Super Bowl 50 commercial, likely promoting the new MINI Clubman

For the first time in five years, MINI will be returning to the Super Bowl. (But thanks to the Steelers, the Bengals shall not be…yet again.) The German automaker has confirmed that it will be putting out a 30-second spot during Super Bowl 50, likely to mark the all-new Mini Clubman.

The last time that MINI aired a commercial during the Super Bowl was during the rollout of its newest vehicle at the time, the Mini Countryman, back in 2011.

MINI’s parent company, BMW, will not be releasing a new commercial at this year’s Super Bowl. The automaker killed it last year with the Katie Couric/Bryant Gumbel spot that poked fun at their lack of knowledge on the Internet way back when.

Only a handful of other automakers have yet confirmed a Super Bowl 50 commercial: Acura, Honda, Hyundai, and Kia.

Super Bowl 50 will take place on Sunday, February 7th, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
