Mitsubishi has announced more details about the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, including its price

Mitsubishi may be focusing mostly on its crossover and SUV lineup, but that doesn’t mean the Japanese carmaker is letting its sedan fall to the wayside. The brand recently announced the specs and pricing for the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer, and we have to say—it’s well outfitted for the new model year.

For the 2017 model year, all trim levels for the Lancer will receive a standard rear camera and a new display audio set up. The Mitsubishi Lancer’s entry-level ES trim will have new 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, while the higher SE and SEL trim levels will receive standard 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels and a new optional Sun and Sound Package, which includes a power glass sunroof, a Rockford Fosgate® premium sound system, and HID headlights with daytime running lights.

Everything else remains relatively the same. The 2017 Lancer has a standard 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine on the entry-level ES, which churns out 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. For the SE and SEL trims, the standard powertrain is a 2.4-liter inline four that gets a pump of power with 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual is standard on the ES, while a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional.

When it comes to fuel economy, the Lancer is exceptional. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder has an EPA estimated 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway, which comes out to 30 mpg combined. For the 2.4-liter four-cylinder, fuel economy comes in at 23 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, which gives drivers a 26 mpg combined.

Inside the 2017 model, Mitsubishi has outfitted a color LCD multi-information display and a 6.1-inch touch panel audio display system. The steering wheel has mounted audio, cruise control, and Bluetooth controls, while the SE comes with heated front seats to give both driver and passenger comfort in the cold months.

Outside, heated side-view mirrors come standard, along with chrome upper and lower grilles and a timed rear window defroster. Needless to say, the 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer is a top-notch choice in its segment, especially with a starting MSRP of $17,795.
