Back in April of this year, the Rugby Football Union announced that Mitsubishi Motors would be an official partner of England Rugby for the start of their 2016/17 season. The three-diamond logo has been featured prominently on the front of the England Under 18 and U20 jerseys throughout the season. Additionally, the automaker sponsored the Exeter portion of the European Grand Prix Sevens Series back in July.

“Mitsubishi is a globally recognised brand with a track record of innovation, excellence and quality, so we look forward to working closely with them. Their support of the England Under 20s and 18s will be hugely beneficial to the long term success of England Rugby,” stated England head coach and Mitsubishi Motors brand ambassador, Eddie Jones.

The Japanese brand has done well to make its presence known during the partnership, creating a separate Twitter account – Mitsubishi Rugby – to tweet along during the games and showcase fun videos featuring the players on the team. They even went as far as holding a sweepstakes for England’s match against Argentina at Twickenham on November 26th.

Almost every home match features a booth called the “Mitsubishi Motors 4 Wheel Dining” experience, where fans can grab a pint from the back of a Mitsubishi L200 pickup truck, along with other delicacies.

There’s no doubt that Mitsubishi is staying active with this partnership and wants to make its presence known.
