Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Nabs Top Safety Ratings in Japan
Mitsubishi’s newest crossover SUV continues to earn praise from its peers as the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross nabs top safety ratings in the Japan New Car Assessment Program.
Learn More: About the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
Within the past year, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has received high ratings from the new car assessment programs in Europe, Southeast Asia, New Zealand, and Latin America. Given these achievements, it is no surprise that Japan gave the Eclipse Cross a five-star rating in the testing and evaluation of collision safety performance and an Advanced Safety Vehicle ++ rating for active safety performance.
This safety nod came only a week after the crossover took home the RJC Car of the Year Award at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Dare to Compare: Which Mitsubishi SUV is right for you
The Eclipse Cross is a secure vehicle inside and out. Its exterior body design absorbs much of the energy from a collision like a sponge does with water. Its headlamps and bumper, along with other parts of the front end, play a significant role in absorbing crashes as well. Inside, its seat belts, seven airbags, and Mitsubishi’s Forward Collision Mitigation braking reemphasize safety as well.
