The Outlander Sport and Outlander helped Mitsubishi to a sales increase for February

If you didn’t think Mitsubishi’s sales could get any better, think again. After announcing its plan to focus on its crossover lineup, the Japanese carmaker has finally kicked things off right with its February sales increase.

“We’ve said it before and we are proving it to be true, the future of the Mitsubishi Motors brand lies in its CUVs,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Outlander Sport continues to be our sales leader and the new Outlander is proving to be quite popular with customers seeking high value and reliability in a very competitive segment.”

The Outlander Sport has done so well that it has posted its best February sales ever. This compact SUV boasted impressive sales of 2,591 vehicles, which is an increase of 8% over February of last year. With a plethora of features, its fuel-efficient size, and unbeatable good looks, it’s easy to see why the Outlander Sport might be a favorite.

But the Sport isn’t the only Mitsubishi crossover to truly stand out from its competitive segment. Its larger brethren, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander, also saw an impressive double-digit increase in February. With an outstanding sales number of 2,121, the Outlander crossover posted an outstanding 81% increase since February of 2015. This sales number makes February 2016 its best February since 2007.

And it’s easy to see why. Since its revamp last year, the Outlander has seen an enormous improvement in sales numbers. The crossover has undergone a complete redesign, fitting in over 100 improvements to its engineering, design, and features list. Now, for an extremely affordable starting price tag of $22,995, consumers can get a number of standard amenities, including FUSE hands-free Link System, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, cruise control, and a variety of other technology that is typically only seen on vehicles much more expensive.
