Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-440 MR

While we were all saddened by the news that production of the vastly underappreciated Mitsubishi Lancer EVO has come to an end, there is still some breath left in the performance-minded Mitsu. Case in point: the 440-horsepower Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-440 MR, which will release in the UK in extremely limited quantities this year. That’s right: 440 horsepower. Did we say breath? Maybe we should have said gust instead.

Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi Motors UK’s Managing Director, could hardly contain his excitement in speaking with Car Scoops: “Mitsubishi Motors in the UK are pleased to announce that, as part of our celebrations of being 40 years in the UK, we will be producing 40 special edition Evo Xs. The Lancer Evolution has always been a halo model for Mitsubishi and this special edition is no exception. More powerful than ever before and with a very limited availability, it will be a ‘must have’ for all die-hard Evolution fans!”

The rare EVO will be made available only in Frost White and with features such as an ECU remap and a Janspeed-provided exhaust system, intake, and intercooler piping kit. It will also sport performance-spec high-flow fuel injectors, Alcon front braking and rear caliper, lowered front and rear suspension, and Keyless Operation System with push-button start.

Want to get your hands on one? Well, if you’re reading this from anywhere other than the confines of a time machine (or TARDIS, for that matter) located in the UK, we have some bad news for you. Not only do these bad boys come with an appropriately hefty price tag (£50,000/$82,700 USD), but they’re also gone.

Yep.

According to Mitsubishi Matters, the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X FQ-440 MR sold out in a little under 12 hours.

Welp. Shoot.

So how about it, Mitsubishi? Wanna make another run and give your friends stateside a shot at 440 horses?
