The Mitsubishi Triton Phantom Edition debuted earlier this week in Malaysia

When you think “pickup truck,” it’s likely Mitsubishi isn’t the first brand that comes to mind. Now, though, the Japanese carmaker has introduced a new version of its Triton pickup truck that is sure to impress even the pickiest of truck buyers.

Mitsubishi is offering consumers in Malaysia a “tough yet sinister” look with the brand-new Mitsubishi Triton Phantom Edition. Only 200 units of this edition will be produced, so if you find yourself in Malaysia, you better catch it while you can.

Check out that rear end!

As any phantom might, the Triton Phantom fades into the night easily with an all-black paint theme. The pickup truck’s entire exterior is black, including matte black 17-inch alloy rims, front grille, and rear bumper. There are a few chrome accents throughout the body, adding to the Phantom Edition’s elusive look. Along with the all-black accessories, the Triton Phantom also gets a sports bar, a flatbed hardcover, and a front bumper extender.

Other exterior features include xenon headlights with LED DRLs and “Phantom” badging. New black leather seats bring the truck’s dark theme into the interior, while contrast “Phantom” embroidery adds a touch of sophistication to the headrests.

The Triton Phantom Edition has a super swanky interior

Just like the regular Triton, the Phantom Edition comes equipped with a 2.5-liter turbo diesel engine, which is mated with a five-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Add the fact that it uses the body of the Triton 4×4 double cab and you’ve got one gorgeous pickup.

After looking at this truck, we can’t help but wonder—will Mitsubishi ever bring the Triton back to the US lineup?
