The Mitsubishi Outlander’s November sales have helped the brand continue its long stretch of sales increases

Despite its decision earlier this year to stop production in the United States, Mitsubishi doesn’t seem to be hurting much at all. The Japanese carmaker recently announced its November sales and, for the 21st month in a row, Mitsubishi has posed a sales gain with a 3.6% increase compared to November 2014.

“Mitsubishi’s lineup of stylish, safe, and fuel-efficient vehicles that offer value and an industry leading powertrain and new vehicle warranties is a product formula that is resonating with today’s consumers,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president of Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Our dealers are reporting significantly increased customer traffic to the showrooms and demand for the vehicles is very strong.”

Mitsubishi’s increase in sales was helped substantially by the Outlander and Outlander Sport crossovers. Both of these vehicles were considered volume leaders for the Japanese carmaker, though the Outlander Sport sold significantly more with 2,955 units, a 10.3% increase year-over-year. The Outlander sold a total of 1,717 units for a 69.3% increase over 2014’s November sales numbers.

As Mitsubishi’s sales continue to go strong, I can only wonder what it’s going to be like once its confirmed crossover and SUV-focused lineup comes more into play. As the Outlander PHEV comes into play in the future, it’s likely the brand will become even better-rounded than before.
