With Nokia Here, Mitsubishi allows drivers to receive almost up-to-the-minute traffic updates, keeping you alert not only to traffic jams, but also to fuel prices and weather around you as you drive. It’s an awesome addition to the technology available in Mitsubishi cars—and it’s also the next step in creating cars as complicated computers with wheels. The 2014 Lancer and Outlander, because they are equipped with touchscreen technology, will be the first Mitsubishi models with the Nokia Here technology.

To use Nokia Here, Mitsubishi vehicles do not even need direct internet access; instead, all the information received is transmitted through HD radio.

“Our commitment to bring the most innovative technologies to our drivers continues to move forward at an aggressive pace, and offering real-time traffic, weather and fuel prices by HD from HERE is another natural next step,” Bryan Arnett, Senior Manager of Product Planning for Mitsubishi Motors North America, said. “Mitsubishi owners will now experience a more enjoyable drive that will let them feel safer while driving on the road.”

Mitsubishi and Nokia Here have collaborated to create the next step in car technology—your car’s now smart enough to alert you, in real time, where the wreck is on the highway, when that thunderstorm will hit, and even—most importantly—just where gas will be the cheapest.
