Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV US Debut Delayed Yet Again
Everyone has that one friend who is late to everything. For the American car industry, that friend happens to be the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Despite the fact that Mitsubishi promised this long-awaited plug-in hybrid SUV would arrive on US soil in 2016, the Japanese carmaker has announced that it is being delayed—for what seems like the millionth time.

Rather than coming out in the early months of 2016, the Outlander PHEV will instead be delayed at least another few months. It will arrive late summer as a 2017 model, according to Green Car Reports.
But it’s important to look on the bright side, right? With the later date, this hopefully means the American Outlander PHEV will benefit from the updates made to the rest of the range for the 2016 model year, such as a quieter cabin, updated interior, and fancier styling.

Even though it won’t be making an appearance in America any time soon, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has made quite an impression in foreign markets. It is currently considered the best-selling plug-in vehicle in the United Kingdom and is even close to breaking records in Japan.
