Mitsubishi Sales Reach Their Highest Numbers in Over a Decade
While the industry as a whole is lacking in month-to-month sales growth, Mitsubishi has seen a significant year-over-year increase over the last decade. In fact, February 2018 saw an 18.8% increase from last year. With 12,973 vehicles sold, February 2018 was the best month of sales for Mitsubishi since 2007.
Similar to Subaru, and most of the automotive industry, SUVs – or CUVs – have moved to the forefront of Mitsubishi’s sales numbers. The ever-popular Mitsubishi Outlander Sport sold 5,377 vehicles last month, the best sales month ever for the Outlander Sport – up 44.3% year-over-year. The Outlander came in shortly behind, also earning its best month yet, with 5,290 vehicles sold.

Mitsubishi expects the 2018 Outlander PHEV, selling 323 units last month, and the upcoming release of the all-new 2018 Eclipse Cross to boost the SUV segment and Mitsubishi’s overall sales.
The Outlander PHEV is a new plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander, appealing to eco-friendly markets. The all-new Eclipse Cross fits well in between the Outlander and the Outlander Cross to diversify Mitsubishi’s lineup.
Overall, Mitsubishi is seeing an increase in sales for the calendar year so far with 21,453 units sold. This is a 23.4% increase when compared to this time last year.
