Chrysler announced on Wednesday that its Mopar service and parts brand will hold its largest exhibit to date at next week’s North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which will be held in Detroit January 13-26. The 5,500-foot Mopar NAIAS display will be intended to highlight the addition of Mopar Custom Shop to the Mopar Garage.

“At this year’s show, we are proud to feature our new Mopar Custom Shop’s ability to give consumers the opportunity to personalize their new vehicle during the purchase process for a ‘your vehicle, your way’ experience with their Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, Fiat dealership,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO — Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand, in a statement released by Chrysler. “This is a great addition to the Mopar Garage, which we introduced last year as a display to give consumers a look at how to customize their current vehicles with an incredible selection of aftermarket quality Mopar parts and accessories.”

The newly-added Mopar Custom Shop will allow potential consumers to configure the personalized aspects of their vehicle before opting to take delivery.  The Mopar brand is famous for its expansive parts and accessories catalogue, which grows by nearly 1,500 items on an annual basis.  That equals out to about 100 unique parts for every vehicle launched by the Chrysler Group, from muscle cars like Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger to the rugged Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Ram 1500.

The Mopar NAIAS display will allow visitors to sample a customization app on a pre-programmed iPad; the app utilizes augmented reality to give the user the sense of how a Ram truck would appear when customized with factory-installed Mopar parts and accessories.
