Honda is continuing to roll out new entries in its “What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda” video series. In the latest entry, the spotlight falls on Lyle Sweeter, a Training Systems and Industry Outreach Manager for the Automobile Sales Division of American Honda Motor Co. Inc.

That’s an awfully long (and boring) title, but fortunately, Sweeter spends less time discussing his job and more time discussing his decades-long passion for motocross racing.

Take a look:

Sweeter, who began racing motocross at age 19 and who is still racing at the age of 67, relates his passion for racing to his work ethic as a Honda associate. In that arena, Sweeter is part of a team assisting Honda dealers in implementing a new sales training program called “Fast Track.”

The Fast Track program allows dealers to partner with universities to match quality sales consultant candidates with Honda dealerships, providing mentoring and support to them as they attempt their first days on the job.

“The goal is to support our dealers,” says Sweeter. “For our dealers to be successful, they need to retain employees who understand Honda and can really meet customers’ needs.”

A 30-year veteran of the Honda company, Sweeter shows no signs of slowing down in any aspect of his life, saying that he has no plans to stop motocross racing, and that the competitive drive that keeps him riding also keeps him looking for new challenges at Honda.

The “What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda” video series spotlights Honda associates who exemplify Honda’s commitment to The Power of Dreams.
