2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO

There’s a lot of meat to pick from the bones of Motor Trend’s 118th episode of its Ignition YouTube series, wherein Carlos Lago and Randy Pobst drive and review the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO and its near-600 horsepower.

There’s this opening declaration from Lago:

“You have to give Nissan credit. Despite how powerful and relentless the GT-R may be, the company always seems to find a way to hone it further, to find more power, sharper handling, or better overall performance. The latest example of their efforts: The NISMO. And it’s the most aggressive GT-R we’ve seen yet.”

There’s Lago’s two-minute overview of every little in-and-out beneath the hood and under the body that makes the GT-R NISMO so special.

There’s Lago’s praise of the GT-R NISMO’s tight steering and its responsive drivetrain, which he says combine to make him a believer “aboard the GT-R train.”

There’s Pobst’s praise for the all-wheel drive and transmission, which he affirms as the fastest car ever tested by MT at the Streets of Willow with a silly lap time of 1:19.07.

Overall, the most ringing endorsement of the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO may come a mere five seconds into the ten-minute-plus video: “yee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee!”
