Ford to Return Buttons to the Dashboard

Over the past couple of years, Ford has garnered some criticism surrounding its MyFord Touch system. Many users have complained the system was too difficult to use, especially for simple tasks like changing the radio station or adjusting the temperature. Well, now, frustrated drivers can heave a sigh of relief, because Ford will be adding some of its sorely-missed buttons and knobs back to the dashboard, in addition to the MyFord Touch system.

Ford to Return Buttons to the Dashboard

The 2013 Ford F-150 will soon be available once again with buttons, as well as the MyFord Touch system

Ford has been working on finding what makes drivers the most comfortable. In an interview with the New York Times, Jim Baumbick, director of global product development for Ford, said, “It’s really a function of getting customer feedback. It’s about finding harmony and balance.”

Ford hopes that its new dashboard layout will strike the perfect balance by offering touchscreens, voice commands, buttons, and knobs to suit the preferences of its customers. The first models to get these buttons back are the 2013 Ford F-150 and the 2014 Ford Fiesta, so if you’re one of those drivers who needs the best of both worlds, we encourage you to check them out!
