General Motors electric bicycleAs part of its efforts to develop an all-electric vehicle lineup and expand into the “personal mobility” market, General Motors is introducing a pair of electric bicycles — and it’s asking bike enthusiasts for help naming the brand.

One of these bikes is a compact model, while the other one folds up. So far, GM hasn’t revealed powertrain specs or any other details about the bikes.

Both models have yet to be branded or named. If you’re interested in weighing in, you can submit naming ideas at eBikeBrandChallenge.com through Nov. 26. GM says it’s looking for “simple, smart, and bold concepts capable of bringing the eBike brand to life” and “fun ideas capable of being understood around the world.”

General Motors electric bicycle“As an avid cyclist and urban commuter, I know how great it feels to get where I’m going easily and to show up sweat-free,” said GM Urban Mobility Solutions Director Hannah Parish. “We blended electrification engineering  know-how, design talents, and automotive-grade testing with great minds from the bike industry to create our eBikes. Now we want to expand our thinking beyond the company walls and hear from people who like to move and have rad ideas.”

If your suggestion is chosen for the brand name, you’ll receive $10,000. Nine runners-up will get $1,000 each. The winners will be announced early next year.

GM first revealed the existence of an eBike concept back in 2015. Since then, the company has filed at least three trademarks for electric bikes under the Maven name.
