Car lovers and old-timers will undoubtedly recognize Fort Wayne, Indiana  for its manufacturing history and GM assembly plant. Having overcome many economic troubles over the twentieth century, Fort Wayne has reinvented itself as a family-friendly town with a wide variety of arts and entertainment highlights for those in its suburbs.

Recommended Modes of Transportation

Fort Wayne may be one of Indiana’s biggest cities, but because its population is under 300,000, the best way to get around is still by car. Traffic around and through downtown is rarely terrible, as long as you avoid rush hour and construction zones. However, if you’d prefer not to drive, plenty of taxi and Uber vehicles would be glad to transport you. The Fort Wayne Citilink public busing system can transport you throughout the downtown area. And if you’d prefer to cycle, there’s even the Zagster bike-sharing program launched earlier this year.
