Tempe is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona. It serves as a major hub in the Valley Metro light rail transit system and features more than 175 restaurants, nightclubs, and retail shops to cater to city guests. Thanks to a young and student-heavy population, Tempe’s nightlife is unrivaled.

Recommended Modes of Transportation

You could use a car, but we recommend getting around by rail or bus. Tempe offers two free neighborhood circulators called “Orbit” and “Flash,” which takes passengers through neighborhoods to the downtown area and connects to the light rail station at College Avenue. The Valley Metro bus service is extensive and offers reasonable fares.

Major Highways and Roadways to Know

There are several main arteries by which to access Tempe’s attractions, including Interstate 10, Loop 101, Loop 202, and US 60. East Van Buren Street, Mill Avenue Bridge, and College Avenue are also main surface streets to remember.

Alternative Ways of Seeing the City

A very enjoyable way to get around Tempe is by bicycle. The city features bike lanes along many roads and offers a variety of pleasant bike paths in and around parks and scenic locations, which conveniently connect to most urban areas and points of interests. You can also rent electric bicycles from The Urban Commuter.
