Navigator Wins Vincentric Best Value in America for Large Luxury SUVs
The Lincoln Navigator has been given the Vincentric Best Value in America award for the Large Luxury SUV segment for the second consecutive year. Lincoln’s full-size SUV took home the top prize yet again due to a combination of value retention and low costs.
The annual awards are based on Vincentric’s constantly-compounding data, which determines the comprehensive cost of ownership over a vehicle’s lifetime. The Navigator was determined to be the best value in its class due to the lowest depreciation, lowest cost for maintenance, lowest total cost of ownership, lowest fixed cost (determined by combining depreciation, fees and taxes, financing, insurance, and opportunity cost), and lowest operating cost (determined by combining cost of fuel, repairs, and maintenance).
Lincoln cites the Navigator’s standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine as being one of the primary causes for winning the award. When using 93-octane fuel, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost-equipped Navigator generates 380 horsepower and returns an EPA-estimated 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway/18 mpg combined (4×2 models).
The Navigator’s win makes Lincoln three-for-three in terms of its SUV lineup winning awards for excellence of late. Last year the MKC was named a Best Buy by Consumer Guide, and the MKX was named the Best Luxury Two-Row SUV for the Money by US News & World Report.
Earlier this year, Lincoln revealed the new Navigator Concept at the 2016 New York International Auto Show. The concept “gives a glimpse of what the future may hold for Navigator,” including the new face of the brand, concertina steps, and gullwing doors.
