We’re Getting a New Focus ST at Goodwood on Friday
Didn’t already have enough reasons to get excited about the start of the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Friday? Well, we’ve got for getting all jacked up: Ford will be debuting a new Focus ST and showcasing its abilities during the hill climb.
Yeah. Get hyped, y’all.
The new Focus ST will headline the First Glance category and will be driven by Ben Collins, who formerly portrayed “The Stig” on Top Gear.
To further fan interaction, Ford and Sony are teaming up for a first-ever “virtual versus real” race, which will put the actual Focus ST (driven by Collins) against a gamer driving the new Focus ST in Gran Turismo® 6 for PlayStation®3.
What tweaks the 2015 Focus ST will boast are as yet unnamed, but it is said that it will benefit from some of the same improvements that will be made to the 2015 Focus.
The 2015 Ford Mustang will also be in attendance at Goodwood, with a Mustang GT participating in the Supercar Class and being driven by Ford Team RS’ David Put.
It’s hard to say with any certainty what to expect with the new Focus ST, but it’s a fair bet that we’re going to want this thing quite hard. In either case, we shall wait patiently for Friday. Hurry it up, Friday. We’re waiting. Being real patient-like, too. Just sitting here. Being patient.
