The new Ford EcoSport is picking up a few new tricks in order to increase its appeal for customers in Europe.

Ford announced on Monday that the new EcoSport will for the first time ever be offered with Ford Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and new 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine. Both will hit for the EcoSport in mid-2018.

Ford Intelligent All-Wheel Drive can deliver torque to the front and rear wheels as needed in just 20 milliseconds, enabling superior traction and control even in inclement conditions. This technology is paired with the all-new 1.5-liter EcoBlue diesel engine, which delivers 125 PS (123 horsepower) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque, better fuel economy, and decreased CO2 emissions.

In addition to revised exterior and interior styling, the new EcoSport will also be offered in an ST-Line trim, which adds sporty aesthetic tweaks—like black-finished headlight bezels and roof rails, Ford Performance-esque bumpers and side skirts, and 17-inch Dark Tarnish alloy wheels on the outside and partial leather seats with Miko-Dinamica inserts and red stitching, ST-Line leather-trimmed flat-bottom steering wheel, and stainless steel sports pedals on the inside—in addition to sport tuning.

The new EcoSport also adds available Cruise Control with Adjustable Speed Limiter and 10-speaker B&O PLAY audio system.

“We’ve enhanced the quality, technology and versatility of the new Ford EcoSport to deliver more of the confidence and control that compact SUV customers want,” said Gary Boes, global B-car vehicle line director, Ford Motor Company. “Drivers will feel more comfortable and self-assured than ever at the wheel.”

“Ford has sold more than 166,000 EcoSport compact SUVs in Europe since we first introduced the model to the region in 2014, and last year sales grew 40%,” said Steven Armstrong, group vice president and president, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, Ford Motor Company. “The new Ford EcoSport offers customers even more style, comfort, capability, and choice—blending rugged SUV functionality with city car practicality.”
