New Honda Jazz Breaks Cover Before Frankfurt World Premiere
*insert clever “…and all that Jazz” joke here*
Good joke, right? You laughed, we laughed, other people somewhere else laughed at something that may or may not have been related to the joke that you just read. See? There is still light and mirth in the world.
Also bringing light and mirth into the world: the new Honda Jazz, which was unveiled this week before its proper debut at the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. In addition to aesthetic upgrades—including the adoption of the “Solid Wing Face” front fascia that has become Honda’s global signature—the new Jazz will be offered with a 130 ps 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine, marking the first time it has been available with the popular powertrain in Europe.
The new 1.5-liter i-VTEC will deliver efficiency of 52.4 mpg and CO2 emissions of 124 g/km when paired with the revamped CVT.
The 1.5-liter i-VTEC will be offered as part of a new Dynamic trim, which will also feature, among other things, a thinned front splitter and triple-strake rear diffuser—both trimmed in red—LED headlights, tailgate spoiler, glossy-black alloy wheels, pinstripe-patterned interior upholstery, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob with orange contrast stitching.
For all other trims but the Jazz Sport, a 1.3-liter i-VTEC with output of 102 PS will be the standard. Other standard equipment across the line includes automatic cruise control and City-Brake Active safety, as well as the 60/40-split Magic Seat system.
The new Honda Jazz is set to be available for pre-order by November, and deliveries throughout Europe are expected to begin by early 2018.
