New Honda November Sales Records Set In Spite of Takata Airbag Recalls

The folks at Honda have really been killing it, lately: their promotional videos are on point, they’re debuting new model, and their sales are doing great; in spite of those exploding Takata airbags that have literally killed a couple of Honda drivers. Although Honda has gotten a lot of bad press from continued Takata airbag recalls – which just went nationwide and affect a whole bunch of early 2000’s Honda vehicles – the scandal has yet to really blow up in the company’s face, as evidenced by these new Honda November sales records which were set last month.
In November 2014, Honda and Acura combined to sell a record 121,814 units, for a 4.6% increase over November of last year. Honda itself accounted for a November-best 106,957 of those units, good for a 4.9% rise over November 2013. Honda truck sales saw a 12.9% increase, for a record total of 60,384 vehicles sold.
Honda’s sales were fueled primarily by the CR-V (which sold a November-best 32,378 units for a 37.7% increase over last year), as well as strong showings from the Pilot (9,228 units, 13.2% increase) and the Fit (6,421 units, 55.1% increase).

“While the market seems to be constantly changing, Honda products continue to march on with strong performances month after month,” said Honda division senior VP Jeff Conrad. “Even with plummeting gas prices, compact models like the CR-V and Fit continue to resonate with buyers.”
It seems that loyalty and forgiveness are also resonating with buyers, who seem to have no qualms about staying true to Honda, even when the road gets rough.
