The HondaJet returns from a night-time function and reliability test at Cobb County International Airport in Atlanta.

Honda released two new photos of the HondaJet today, to coincide with an announcement that the Honda Aircraft Company has completed all function and reliability (F&R) test conditions and is concluding F&R flights for the plane. The announcement was made at the National Business Aviation Association Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas, which is being held from November 17-19.

“Honda Aircraft will conclude testing with the FAA in a few days, which will pave the way for HondaJet type certification and entry into service,” Honda Aircraft Company President and CEO Michimasa Fujino said today. “We are expecting FAA type certification of the world’s most advanced light jet very soon.”

For its F&R testing, the HondaJet has flown missions to 54 airports in 31 states in the US, to ensure that the aircraft and its components and equipment are all reliable and functioning properly.

The HondaJet went on a world tour this year, debuting to the public in the company’s home country of Japan, before going on to Europe and South America. A North American demonstration tour was also completed in 2015, and combined, the HondaJet flew over 300 total hours in North America, Japan, Europe, and South America.

The HondaJet is Honda’s first commercial aircraft, and the company says that when it eventually reaches the market, it will be the fastest, highest-flying, quietist, and most fuel-efficient jet in its class.
