Kia Sportage GTA Commercial

This Korean Kia Sportage commercial takes a lot of influence from GTA

Grand Theft Auto is one of the most well-known car-related video games in the market. With its reputation for total debauchery, it’s truly a release for youngsters around the world. So it makes sense that brand’s want to appeal to those Millennials that love to cause mayhem on the video game—and that’s exactly what Kia has done.

In its newest 2016 Kia Sportage commercial, which was recently released in Korea, Kia has taken the layout of Grand Theft Auto to highlight the efficiency of the crossover’s engines in a very interesting way.

The video game-like commercial begins in the oddest way possible—on the toilet. As the main character relieves himself during work, he decides to play a rousing game of “Generation Today’s Action” (as the game is called in the TV spot) on his cell phone. He has the choice of three characters, picking the one who eventually hops into the 2016 Kia Sportage for a joy ride.

As the Sportage runs around town, the viewers are given a look at its awesome fuel efficiency numbers and power. The Korean Sportage is offered with either a 1.7-liter U CRDi diesel with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or an R 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine, which is different than the America specs. But the idea is the same—the crossover is one efficient vehicle.

If you want to check out the strange video, then watch it below. It’s difficult to understand if you don’t speak Korean, but it’s still pretty great if you pay attention to the action!
