2016 Nissan TITAN XD

It seems that Nissan’s new TITAN XD truck has been a big hit in Texas. Less than a month after the company showed off the TITAN XD’s capabilities at the State Fair of Texas, the TITAN is again making news in Texas, this time at the Texas Auto Writer Association’s 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo, where the TITAN XD won the prestigious “Truck of Texas” award, as well as three other awards: Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas, Off-Road Pickup of Texas, and Best Powertrain for the TITAN’s standard 5.0-liter Cummins® V8 Turbo Diesel engine.

Nissan’s all-new Murano also won an award, and was named Mid-Size CUV of Texas.

The Texas Truck Rodeo runs the industry’s best trucks, SUVs, and CUVs through a rough-and-tumble two-day evaluation at Knibbe Ranch in Spring Brand, Texas. Nissan is understandably thrilled.

“Of the hundreds of thousands of miles driven during the development of the all-new 2016 TITAN XD, the miles driven by the truck experts of the Texas Auto Writers Association were the most critical miles driven to date as we prepare to launch our new truck,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc.

The TITAN XD is set to be released in December with a choice of five grade levels, three cabs, two frame sizes, and three powertrains.
