2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT Power Pack 3

Are you the proud owner of a sixth-generation Ford Mustang EcoBoost or GT? First off: good for you; you made the right choice, ya know. Secondly, you are now able to purchase a performance calibration kit for your prized pony that will bump up your engine’s output while remaining compliant with both state laws and your limited vehicle warranty. That’s what you call a win-win.

The performance calibration kits will be made available by Ford Performance Parts.

“Ford Performance Parts is a key part of our product strategy,” said Doug White, Ford Performance Parts manager. “Mustang is all about performance, and we know our customers look to us for performance options that are both 50-state-compliant and warranty-friendly.”

For the 2015-2017 Ford Mustang EcoBoost, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine will get an extra 70 lb-ft of peak torque and an additional 25 horsepower, boosting its output to 335 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. What’s more, it increases max output by 100 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, as well as 74 horsepower and 64 lb-ft of torque from 5,500 rpm to redline.

The 2015-2017 Ford Mustang GT can be equipped with three difference performance calibration packages, each one incorporating a no-lift-shift feature for models with manual transmissions that allows drivers to shift without taking their foot off of the throttle.

The first pack includes re-calibration and the addition of a high-flow air filter, which adds 13 horsepower and 16 lb-ft of torque. The second adds a cold air intake, 87 mm throttle body and the Shelby GT350’s intake adapter and CARB-certified open air filter, all of which boosts performance by 21 horsepower and 24 lb-ft of torque. The third bumps redline to 7,500 rpm, which adds 37 horsepower and 5 lb-ft of torque.

All performance calibration kits added to Mustangs equipped with automatic transmissions will also include optimized performance shift schedules.

The 2015-2017 Mustang GT Performance Calibration Power Pack 1 costs $599; Power Pack 2 costs $949; and Power Pack 3 costs $2,395. Pricing for the Mustang EcoBoost kit was not available as of press time.
