Many GMC fans are avidly anticipating the release of the revamped 2019 Sierra 1500, which the brand designed as a more utilitarian complement to the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The 2019 Sierra is expected to manifest a comprehensive makeover which includes restyled head- and taillights and front/rear fascias, as well as more chrome details to please contemporary tastes. A wider bed, power tailgate, and reduced curb weight are additional features to look forward to in the revised model. Lastly, the 2019 Sierra should also boast even better tow ratings and greater payloads.

While we have yet to see all of the details about this new version of the popular Sierra model, recent spy shots definitely amp up the suspense factor as we all count down to the debut of the 2019 Sierra 1500 in March.

Besides the cosmetic makeovers (which are sadly hidden in these spy shots), the new GMC Sierra is predicted to have a new hybrid setup, in contrast to the eAssist option currently available on this model. The 2019 Sierra will also incorporate a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter inline-six engine, while the 5.3- and 6.2-liter V8 engines add on the capacity to deactive individual cylinders.

The spy shot truck also camouflages the Sierra’s new T1 platform, comprised of high-strength steel, which increases the torsional rigidity by 10% while reducing the weight of the frame by 88 pounds. Two other noteworthy changes are an increased overall length as well as wheelbase, the latter which gains 3.9 inches, for even more grip and stability on the road than before.

The 2019 Sierra 1500 will be available for purchase a bit later this year. Hold tight to your seats as we await more news about this exciting model refresh and count down to its March reveal.
