New Subaru Commercials Cause Emotional Breakdowns
Subaru recently debuted a series of ads centered around the all-new 2017 Impreza that will truly pull at the heartstrings of literally everyone everywhere. The ads, “More,” “Moving Out,” and “Rewind,” all feature moments in the lives of Impreza owners and how the safety features of the vehicle keep their minds at ease.
“The all-new Impreza advertising campaign focuses on the intimate experiences that unite us all,” explained Alan Bethke, senior vice president of marketing, Subaru of America, Inc. “With major gains in handling performance, crash safety and ride comfort, the 2017 Impreza offers customers a smooth and trusted ride, ready for wherever the road takes them.”
Kids, puppies, accidents, and more puppies
“Moving Out” focuses on how quickly children grow up and become fully functioning adults. Oh, and it wouldn’t be a Subaru commercial if there wasn’t an aging dog thrown in there to make you sob into your bowl of Doritos. On the other end of the emotional spectrum is “Rewind,” which features a couple that was recently involved in an auto accident. While the accident seemed to cause minimal damage to the couple physically, the tone of the commercial is still dramatically solemn. And finally, “More” compares the separate joys of bringing home a baby for the first time versus a puppy. (Because, Subaru.)
I’m not crying, you’re crying
The new spots have caused quite a stir with viewers, prompting them to tell the Twitter-verse just how emotional these commercials have made them:

As you can see, there’s an emotional path of destruction that has been caused by the automaker. This seems to be Subaru’s penchant when it comes to its commercials and I’m sure we’ll all have a good cry when the next batch of ads come out in the future.
