New Syfy Channel Show to Feature Blood-Fueled Cars
Prepare to hear the most metal premise for a TV show you have ever heard: The Syfy Channel is planning to air a 13-episode series called Blood Drive: in near-apocalyptic America, “LA’s last good cop” is forced to slaughter his way across the country to fuel his blood-powered car to win a murderous cross-country race of vampire cars for reasons not yet revealed.
Will Good Cop stick to his morals, or will he give in to the ravenous blood engine of the vampire car and the demands of his “dangerous femme fatale partner” and murder hundreds for their precious, sticky biofuel?
The show is coming to us from producers John Hlavin of Underworld: Awakening and David Straiton of Angel, Bates Motel, and The Originals.
Of the pilot episode, Syfy president Dave Howe said, “This highly stylized roller coaster ride is a throwback to 1970s grindhouse cinema.”
The president of Universal Cable Producers, who are working to produce the show as well, said, “The combination of gritty action and dark humor can push the envelope in some fun and unexpected ways.”
