Nissan Rep Says 50 Percent of LEAF Adopters in the UK Are Total EV Converts
The price of gas continues to drop, and many are beginning to wonder what impact cheaper crude oil will have on the longterm outlook for electric cars. Nissan may not be counted among those terribly concerned, as one spokesperson for Nissan Great Britain states that more than half of all LEAF adopters in the UK would not go back to driving a vehicle powered by a combustion engine.
According to Carscoops, Nissan Motor Great Britain’s Limited Managing Director James Wright said that “the feeling from Leaf owners is that they would never go back to a traditional combustion engine.” Further, 64% of all LEAF owners say that the EV drives better than any petrol or diesel vehicle they’d ever driven, and about 95% said that they would gladly recommend the vehicles to their friends.
Interestingly, around a third of all LEAF drivers maintain that they don’t spend any more time planning trips than they would when they owned a gasoline- or diesel-powered car, insinuating that the 84-mile driving range of the 2015 LEAF is more than sufficient for a large contingent of drivers.
